PG Bison 1.618 Awards Evening
& 2011 Winners

PG Bison is proud to announce that due to the large number of excellent submissions received for the 2011 competition, four students and their lecturers have won an all-expenses paid trip to Cape Town to attend the 2012 Design Indaba Conference. They have also received thousands of rands worth of vouchers from The Foschini Group.

Professional and student designers and creatives witnessed the announcement at a fashionably glam affair at the Alex Theatre in Braamfontein, where Violet Chengeta (of the Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Architecture) and Tarquin van der Westhuizen (of the BHC School of Design) were announced joint second place winners.

Peter Lekganyane (of the Tshwane University of Technology's Department of Interior Design) and Lorika Martins (of the Potchefstroom Academy) shared third place.

“I look forward to this function each year, it is always invigorating to see what each new crop of interior design and architecture students have to offer. And this year was particularly interesting with the challenge the judges had in trying to choose one outright winner from the vast amount of excellent submissions we received” says Jason Wells, Marketing Manager of PG Bison.

Night of 1000drawings sponsorship announced
The popular Night of 1000drawings is back and will happen on Thursday 10 October 2011 at the Grove corner Juta and Melle streets in Braamfontein.

Jason Wells explains that "PG Bison is passionate about design so this is a really good charity for us to support. Our 1.618 competition for architecture and interior design students is a natural fit with 1000drawings so we are very pleased to be involved".

PG Bison 1.618 Award for Outstanding Contribution to Design

On the night PG Bison introduced an inaugural award for Outstanding Contribution to Design which went to Brian Steinhobel. Brian’s relationship with PG Bison began over 20 years ago, in fact, he was involved with the late Herc Marais in conceptualising this very competition. Congratulations Brian!

Gary Chaplin, CEO of PG Bison, congratulates Brian Steinhobel.
